The Homeowner Protection Office has provided a Residential Construction Performance Guide, which sets out the required performance of new homes covered by home warranty insurance in British Columbia. Homeowners are encouraged to refer to this Guide to find out if a possible defect in their new home may be covered by home warranty insurance; while residential builders can use it to understand and exceed the standard to which homes will be measured.
